And here's a list of my current bookmarks. They may or may not be of interest or use to you!
DJ's
site is always of interest -- typically contentious as he
can be :)
A very
fine charity Macmillan Cancer Relief are
worthy of your support. A few years ago, some friends and I undertook
a walk across the Sahara to raise
money for them and pictures and
an excellent diary by Andrew Whittaker
may well be of interest to anybody considering helping them in their
work.
If
you're ever in my area, then a visit to the estimable Deal
Hoy is called
for - and mine's a large Cork
Dry Gin and tonic please.
For
all your computer hardware and software needs, I can't praise
highly enough the excellent Computer
Connections where Ollie and Luke offer a standard of service
and professionalism that puts most others to shame. UPDATE:
Sadly, this site no longer offers anything, as Ollie has decided
to
hang up her slate for the forseeable future. A great, great
shame.
For
your network cabling and design needs look no further than Ray
Dick and if you need telecomms consultancy then Pete
Finnigan is your man.
Interested
in all things wireless related? Then Guy
Kewney's page is an excellent starting point.
For
your ISP needs inc. ADSL, leased lines and web- hosting,
look
no further
than Wizards Ltd or Merula
Ltd where my friends Chris Comley and Richard Palmer respectively
offer a truly excellent service (now can you take your foot
off
my neck please Chris?).
All
your Web-site design needs can be taken care of by Mac Jordan
at Horus Communications and
she can also talk to you about cats for
ever. I should point out that Mac has had nothing to do
with this site and any brickbats should be directed to
me at /dev/null!
For
writing on IT and all things technical that's informed, provoking
and humorous the following two writers are hard to beat: Rupert
Goodwins and Jon Honeyball.
The latters trademarked "power flounce" is a legend
amongst his friends.
Standard
links that I look at daily are: Dilbert
and The Onion as well as
this fine collection
of mainly geek humour.
